Thursday shuttle from JSM to Santa Cruz Departs Hilton Towers San Francisco (333 O'Farrell St) at 2:00 pm on Thursday 7 August
Sunday shuttles from Santa Cruz to airports Airport shuttles will depart UCSC at 4:00 am, 7:30 am, and 9:30 am on Sunday 10 August. Shuttles will visit both San Jose (SJC) and San Francisco (SFO) airports. Travel time to SJC is approximately 1 hour, and travel time to SFO is approximately 2.5 hours.
Rooms All talks will be in Classroom Unit 1. The opening mixer will be in Namaste Lounge, across the street from the College Nine/Ten Dining Hall. The Posters and the banquet will in the University Center Hall, on the second floor above the College Nine/Ten Dining Hall.
Registration Registration will be in College Nine, Building R5, from 3 to 5 on Thursday, August 7. Participants who are driving to campus should take the main entrance, turn left on Hagar Drive and drive uphill to the intersection with McLaughlin Drive, turn left at the intersection and drive uphill, then make a right at the first turn which corresponds to Chinquapin Rd. The first turn on the right will take you to the Crown College Lower Parking Lot, number 111. Reserved parking permits will be handed at the lot and a shuttle will take you to College Nine.
If you arrive before or after the registration period, but before 8 pm, go to Crown College Conference Service Office. If you arrive between 8 pm and 1 am, you will be stopped at the kiosk by the entrance where you will receive directions. Participants arriving after 1 am will not be allowed to enter campus.
Phone and e-mail A telephone connection is located in the bedroom of each apartment with free campus and local call access. A limited number of phones will be available to rent at Conference Service Office. You are allowed to plug in your own phone.
Each bedroom has an ethernet connection. Please visit http://www2.ucsc.edu/resnet/config/ for configuration information. The Science and Engineering Library also offers internet access and the possibility of connecting your own laptop.
Parking Permits are required in most lots during weekdays between 7 am and 5 pm, and in some lots everyday, 24 hours a day. Please read the signs carefully to avoid getting a parking ticket, since parking enforcement is highly efficient. Participants commuting to campus: (a) on Thus. after 5pm park in any 7 to 5 lot near College Nine. (b) On Friday morning, if you have pre-paid your permit, go to the Crown College Lower Parking Lot, number 111. Reserved parking permits will be handed at the lot. If you do not have a pre-paid permit buy one at the kiosk just past the main campus entrance. (c) On Sat. use the Hahn lot which is the closest to the classroom unit. Pay attention to the signs regarding permit requirements.
Reimbursements All participants who have been offered reimbursement of expenses related to travel, registration, logdging or meals will have to fill out a PDR 204 form . Non US nationals will have to provide a copy of the first page of their passport (with photo and signature), copy of the visa that they used to enter the US on the present trip (if one was needed), copy of the form I-94 and copy of their green cards (if they are permanent residents) and fill out a certification of citizenship.
